Let Your Inner Light Shine!
Each and every one of you has so much love to share with this world. You and your talents are needed and they are a blessing to all who truly know you. Mother Theresa once shared, “You are a messenger of God’s love, a living lamp that offers its light to all, and the salt of the earth. Take Jesus to the people and places that need Him most today.” Let’s heed her advice and be the hands and heart of God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit for those who need Him most today. Verses on Letting Your Light Shine and Spreading Goodness
No one after lighting a lamp puts it under the bushel basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven. –Matthew 5:15-16
I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. -John 8:12
For thou wilt light my candle: the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness. -Psalm 18:28
Overcoming Negative Thoughts with Faith in God’s Way
Have unhealthy or negative thoughts ever taken you for a ride on a gerbil wheel? These self-defeating thoughts enter your mind then replay themselves as they go round and round causing you stress, anxiety, and/or fear. God does not want us to suffer so. He wants us to live lives filled with peace. Do you recall when Peter (Matthew 14:22-33) stepped out of the boat onto the ocean and walked on top of the water toward Jesus? He then grew frightened when he noticed the wind roaring. What happened next? Peter sank into the water. He called out to Jesus to save him. Jesus helped him then inquired why Peter had let fear settle in. The same can be asked of us when we do not seek solace in God’s ways, trust in His truths, when the gerbil wheel of negativity begins to take effect. God is ready, willing, and waiting with open, unconditional loving arms.
Fear will sink us, however faith in God will allow us to overcome the obstacles in life and allow us to soar when we do His great works. God’s way is the only way that brings genuine, ongoing peace. Today, when you find those negative thoughts trying to pry their way in, simply reach out to God in prayer or say, “Come Holy Spirit, come. Please help me. Show me your way. Please fill me with your peace.” Wow! Wait until you see what happens next! ©
For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. -Isaiah 41:13
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. -Philippians 4:7
